Liam is 14 pounds! He gained 1 1/4 pounds in 2 weeks! I knew he was going through a growth spurt, with all the extra sleeping and eating he was doing! They weighed him when he got his second half of his shots yesterday 
He’s finally excited about playing with toys now! He’s also been exploring his hands, staring at them, grabbing things; and is starting to make funny mouth noises, like clicking. It’s obvious he’s trying to talk and studies our mouths intently. He even looked envious when he saw me eating a cookie today!

The meeting of the minds! Last weekend Clare and I headed up to Mike and Michelle’s to brew another batch of beer. Mike and I headed out to Steinfillers in Long Beach to pick up a new set of ingredients. This time we went for “Red Ale” (scroll down the page to see it).

Liam’s 10 week checkup went great, of course! He weighs 12 lbs 12 oz (75th percentile) and is 24.5 inches long (85th percentile). He got his first set of vaccinations, which made him sleepy and grouchy for the next few days. He’s sleeping 7 or 8 hours a night now (yay!), and is starting to take regular naps during the day. He’s enjoying toys a little bit more, but still seems to prefer staring at our faces. He really likes this CD I bought of children’s songs from around the world, especially the ones from Ghana, Japan and Scotland, so fun!
He’s also starting to gain better control of his hands. It’s the cutest thing in the world to watch him trying to rub his eyes when he is tired.
