Our little one has been kicking, punching, and squirming… all of which Clare has felt, of course… but tonight I was able to feel it!! Clare is able to get him to punch right after she shakes her leg, especially after eating. Though I’ve been trying to feel his little punches and kicks for weeks, tonight was the first time I could feel it! A tiny little “thump” just under my hand!!!!
This is worse than waiting for Christmas.

Clare and I went on our first GeoCache search today!
While researching close Caches on the website, I kept seeing posts with messages like “I met RedFive while looking for this Cache, testing out his GPS”, and thought… “c’mon, what are the chances?”. But, sure enough, while running back to the car for our schwag to put in the first Cache we found, I saw a group of people getting out of a car with GPS’s. I chatted with them while walking back to the Cache, telling them it was my first find, while finding out that this was their 1,225th (or something like that).
We had three Caches lined up. The first was somewhere at the Orange County Fairgrounds, but since the Swap Meet was going on, we were unable to get in there. The second (our first “find”), was at a very close park in our neighborhood… and the third was at another nearby park, across the street from our neighborhood.
It was a gorgeous day, and my wife’s idea. She wanted me to relax for the day, and it worked! So much fun!

We had our actual, scheduled ultrasound today! And, yep, it’s still a boy in there.
According to the Ultrasound technician, everything is exactly like it should be, perfect. There is fluid in his stomach and intestines, signifying that his digestive functions are working properly. Head is the right size, placenta in place.
The primary purpose of today’s ultrasound was to check the baby from head to toe, and be able to make certain that all of the really bad defects are not there… thankfully none are.
I’ve posted a short clip of a bit of the ultrasound. This was taken off of a handheld digital camera, but we also have a VHS tape of the entire scan as well.
Clare is doing well, the baby is starting to kick and move enough for her to feel it… she’s a bit surprised I can’t yet feel it externally.
On the way home we swung by and picked up the Honda from being repaired. It looks perfect. Better than before the accident, in fact. Unfortunately we had to shell out a very large amount for our deductible, but we hope to get that back from the other guy’s insurance company (if he has one!).
