My first wedding anniversary gift!

Clare just got me the coolest wedding anniversary gift EVER! She tracked down and bought a first edition of Cryptonomicon and took me down to San Diego for a booksigning with Neal Stephenson! Neal (yes, we’re on a first name basis) had a question and answer period followed by the signing. Clare ordered his new book, Quicksilver, from the store as soon as it was available, securing us a coveted number 14 in line!

Neal even signed “Josh and Clare, Happy Anniversary” in our copy of Quicksilver!

The signing was at Mysterious Galaxy Books. They’ve got some great authors lined up for upcoming signings… Terry Prachett, Orson Scott Card, and others.
